Synopsis: While orbiting planet Alpha 117, good and evil come to life when a bizarre transporter accident splits Kirk into two halves. The evil Kirk leaves a trail of assaults and mayhem until confronted by the benign, yet passive Kirk, supported by Spock and McCoy. It seems that properties within the planet's ore caused the transporter accident, but that's not the only headache. With the transporter out of commission, a landing party is stranded on the surface. Death looms large. Unless the transporter can be repaired quickly, the mission team faces a night of lethal sub zero temperatures and Kirk's disparate selves will die unless reunited.
